Meet William McGaughey
William McGaughey is author of the book Five Epochs of Civilization and creator of this website. He is interested in meeting persons around the world who are interested in the concept of world history and, in particular, how the story of all humanity ought to be written.
Mr. McGaughey would welcome an invitation to travel to your college, school, or other organization that is concerned with world history to talk about this subject from his perspective or to engage in an open discussion of history with interested persons. He speaks English and has some acquaintance with German and French.
Mr. McGaughey would not require a fee. He would also be willing to assume most or all of the cost of traveling to your city by air. He would require that local-travel costs, and the costs of meals and lodging and other incidental expenses by borne by you if you invite him. The financial arrangements should be agreed to in advance.
William McGaughey’s wife, Lian, might also be willing to accompany him on the visit under the same arrangements. Born and raised in Beijing, she has experienced the world-changing events of modern China from an unusual perspective. She speaks mandarin Chinese and is conversant, though not totally fluent, in English.
